Surf & Turf Bundeena Run

Captain Janet and First Mate Pete (the Pirate) called the crew together at Haywards Bay dockyard to weigh anchor, get up a head of steam and head off into the northwest breeze, bound for our ultimate prize – the boarding of HMS Curranulla and forcing its captain to surrender to our demands to be taken onto the high seas!
We soon sailed past Mt Kembla and mounted a concerted attack on HMS Sublime Point Café where pieces of eight were exchanged for steaming hot coffee, scones and jam.
Our next port of call was to be Bundeena, and after stealthily navigating the wonderful lane through the national park, we arrived at our destination. After secreting our ‘ships’ in the overflow docking area of Bundeena Royal Ship Locker, we sneakily disguised ourselves as day tourists and managed to over- run HMS Curranulla.
A beautiful voyage ensured with all the crew marvelling at the rich housing, sparkling beaches and beautiful boats. We even met up with a second boarding party in the form of sailors Julie, Mark, Phil and Cheryl, who stormed the ship at Royal Cronulla docks.
After this we returned to Bundeena Royal Ship Club where we all enjoyed a tasty lunch.
The return route home navigated us down past Bald Hill, and via Sea Cliff bridge until we re-docked at Haywards Bay.
Well done to Captain Janet and First Mate Pete for their organising and to the 23 crew who supported this great adventure!
