Sydney Chapter First Meeting
05 September 2013 / Words and photos by Guy Coles
On Wednesday 4th September, the Sydney Chapter was officially launched at the Waverton Bowling Club with nearly 40 members attending. After a meal looking out over Sydney Harbour, Guy Coles gave a brief presentation on the Chapter's structure and plans for the coming year followed by Graham Fletcher providing some valuable insights on how to put a run together.
With members (and non-members) making the effort to come on the night from Newcastle, Illawarra and the RPM Chapter, it was an excellent turnout and show of support. Founding members of the Chapter were presented with a "Sydney Chapter" cap. A great vote of thanks goes out to all those who put their hand up to volunteer to assist in the run organisation and social event planning.
A big vote of thanks also goes out to Mick Consalvi of Hume Smash Repairs, the Sydney Chapter’s sponsor, who while he couldn’t make it on the night, has been highly supportive of the chapter phoning on the night to wish us good luck.
All in all it was a great evening with good food and good company and with a start like this, the Chapter is certainly destined for great things.
