Twilight Whispers

A balmy February evening, perfect for a mystery run, but where shall we go?
On Saturday 28th February, 27 members in 17 cars, with every model represented - NA, NB, NC, ND and RF, said farewell to Summer by enjoying the Mystery Twilight run through the Southern Highlands to Berry.
We met at Haywards Bay and fortunately, the rain from the previous few days had stopped. The clouds parted and everyone was topless…the cars that is.
Peter and Lesley Willing led the group and remarkably nobody took a wrong turn, missed a turn or succumbed to the pot holes along the way. All the drivers and their passengers thoroughly enjoyed the route which included MX5 friendly windy and twisty mountain roads that the Illawarra is famous for. We didn't climb just one winding mountain road, we climbed three, Macquarie Pass, Jamberoo Mountain and finally Berry Mountain. An impromptu stop near the historic Hampton Bridge in Kangaroo Valley allowed for a group photo then it was on to our destination, The Berry Hotel for dinner. Fabulous food and excellent company, including welcoming back our Illawarra foundation members Jill and Peter Feutrill in their fabulous new NC, rounded off a wonderful event.
As promised, the stars were out on the way home and it’s absolutely no mystery that we are part of the greatest car club around.
