International Women’s Day
Eight ladies from the Illawarra and five from the South Coast set off from their respective meeting points for a beautiful afternoon in honour of International Women’s Day.
The Illawarra group gathered at Hungry Jack’s car park in Haywards Bay before enjoying a scenic drive through Gerringong and Shoalhaven Heads. The South Coast ladies met at the Nowra Boat Ramp and made their way across town. Both groups eventually converged at the charming Cambewarra Estate, a picturesque winery nestled beneath the breathtaking Cambewarra Mountain.
Upon arrival, everyone took a moment to soak in the stunning surroundings — rolling vines, mountain views, and the soft, relaxed atmosphere that makes Cambewarra so special. Naturally, the cameras came out, and plenty of photos were taken to capture what will no doubt become treasured memories.
Once seated, the ladies were treated to a delightful high tea experience. A selection of teas was enjoyed across the table, with a few opting for a celebratory glass of bubbles or wine. The food arrived in stages: delicate finger sandwiches to begin, followed by an array of savoury bites including mini pizzas, tarts, and homemade sausage rolls. Sweet treats soon followed — petite cakes and, of course, freshly baked scones served with jam and cream. Each place setting was uniquely styled with beautiful cutlery, plates, and teacups, adding a personal and elegant touch to the afternoon.
The atmosphere was filled with conversation, laughter, and the easy warmth that comes from spending time with good friends. It was a truly lovely way to celebrate International Women’s Day — honouring the wonderful women in our lives and enjoying a shared moment of connection, appreciation, and joy.
