Summer Special! Does $27,500 tempt you?. Unfortunately, due only to lack of use, sadly MMX-55M needs a new home. Owned since July 2008, it has done just 2,700km in that time. I purchased it from Parkes in Western NSW, from a retired engineer who claimed to have spent over $50K on it, which is believable and I have receipts for a lot of that work.
It is a January 90 build, but in 2004 was fully resto'd, including being intercooled, supercharged, with a brass button clutch and locked diff supplied by Alan Horsley. The diff was built by Mazda Motorsport for use in Targa Tasmania, however deemed illegal so not used. The previous owner was a friend of Alans and obtained it through him.
Brembo Brakes, fully sorted suspension, sports exhaust and body kit hand made by the previous owner, including a cold air intake cleverly made through the headlight flap, yet without interfering with its operation.
The paint colour is actually Maranello Red, a specially mixed Ferrari colour.
It even comes with a brand new matching spare wheel in a box!
The previous owner went to so much detail with this car, that he bought 5 wheels in case one ever got scratched and they were no longer in production!
What I need you to understand, is that everything else he has done with the car also had the same level of thought and care applied....
When Dave Raddatz from MX-5 Mania drove it through The Gorge from his home to his workshop and back, he said it was the best Supercharged early model NA he had ever driven and not to touch the set up. High praise indeed from the man that knows a thing or two about MX-5's!
The car comes with the original handbook, 2 sets of keys, and full documentation of the kilometres from new, so the k's are genuine.
This is a fully finished car that you could not build for twice or more of the asking price now.
As I am serious about selling, I have reduced the price again.
Why? I don't want to go through the hassle of selling privately to day dreamers and test pilots. I would prefer to sell under market to someone who respects both the car and myself, than waste time I don't have on WOFTAM's....
