Bathurst Waypoint Run

The NA 30th Anniversary Day driver’s run to Mount Panorama on some superb MX-5 back-roads on crossing the Blue Mountains away from the Great Western Highway in the cool of the morning.
As we have to be in Pit Straight Mount Panorama Bathurst before 10.30am, we have no scheduled breakfast stops on this 3 hour drive in your five to be part of the anniversary photo shoot. Breakfast at McDonalds Eastern Creek before we head off at 7.00am is recommended. If you are feeling peckish on reaching Bathurst then pull into McDonalds for a quick brekkie when we arrive at around 10.00am then on to the circuit.
Our MX-5 enthusiast route the Mountain, takes us off the GWH at Hartley for the awesome run down the twists and turns of Jenolan Caves Road then back up to Oberon on the Edith Road as it rises and falls on winding its way to Oberon. From Oberon we continue driving west through Wisemans Creek and The Lagoon to Orton Park for a right turn off Vale Road to Lloyds Road for Pit Straight.

- On the side of GWH opposite the Caltex Service Station (just past Mt Victoria township)
- Opposite Hampton Halfway Hotel on Jenolan Caves Road Hampton
- Jenolan Caves House for the car park up the road from the hotel for a rest stop
- Intersection of Edith Road 7 Prince Street Oberon (as we enter the town)
- Intersection Beaconsfield & O/Connell Plain Roads O’Connell
- Lagoon Road & Vale Road Orton Park
- Pit Lane on Pit Straight Bathurst
