Bendooley Winery Berrima, A Bookworm’s Delight
Bendooley winery is situated in the Southern Highlands. The iconic Berkelouw Book Barn is within the restaurant, immersing one in shelves of books while while enjoying your lunch. This might just take your attention away from eating, depends how hungry you are for food or books! You can spend all day there, wandering between the shelves and indulge yourself with so many authors and titles.
For the last two centuries, Bendooley Estate has had many owners, however, in about 1979, Leo Berkelouw, who had a very successful business in Sydney, decided he needed larger quarters so he purchased Bendooley. For 40 years now, this bookstore has been in operation. Certainly a very interesting place.
Wes and Lena will lead us along many picturesque roads before stopping for a quick coffee (or tea.) They will then lead us on another enjoyable tour through the Highlands before arriving at the beautiful Bendooley Estate winery. Your mouths should be watering anticipating the lovely lunch (and wine) Be prepared for what appears to be a fine dining experience!
