Blue Mountains and the Zig-Zag Railway
After a scenic trip to the Mountains, we’ll have a couple of nights at the Leura Gardens Resort and spend the days relaxing in the company of good friends. Plus a scenic ride on the world-famous Zig-Zag Railway. (https://zigzagrailway.com.au)
The plan:
Thursday 27 August: The run up to Leura will take the back roads through Crookwell, Taralga and Oberon to our accommodation.
Friday 28 August: Soak up the sights and scenery on board Australia's historic steam locomotive as it hauls you over the Great Lithgow Zig Zag. Established in 1869, we will experience heritage steam travel on the original rail path down the picturesque western escarpment of the Blue Mountains – almost exactly as it was in the late 1800s.
Saturday 29 August: We will travel back home via the Great Western Highway to Penrith, Thirlmere, Bundanoon and the good old Hume
More to come as I work out the details, including our routes, accommodation and information on buying tickets.
PLEASE NOTE: This run will be strictly limited in numbers - accommodation will only be reserved for ten rooms.

Run Grade: This is a long run, but should be suitable for most drivers. It features some twisty stuff on the run up, but the rest should be a doddle. The Club’s Grading System is described at https://nsw.mx5.com.au/events/important-information/run-gradings.
