Canberra Capers
Join us for an overnight trip to Canberra. A run up the Kings Highway will be interrupted by morning tea and retail therapy in Braidwood and lunch in Bungendore. This will also involve some retail therapy in the village shops.
Dinner is planned for a pleasant Italian or Thai restaurant near the city centre.
There is a great show on at the Canberra Theatre Centre (https://canberratheatrecentre.com.au/show/animal-farm/) but tickets may be hard to get at this date.
Accommodation has been arranged at The Avenue in Canberra. No buffet breakfast is available at the hotel due to Covid rules in ACT, BUT another breakfast venue is highly recommended, just around the corner, is Rye. It is very good and we need to book: Menu (ryecafe.com.au) Looks wonderful!
Friday is planned to incorporate the sights of Canberra and will include either the War Museum or Parliament House tours. A drive through the Abortorium is also suggested.
The hotel is offering a Boticelli and Van Gogh package - $212 – includes 2 tickets to the exhibition. Tickets normally $28.55 each. Saves $15.
The trip home will include lunch at either one of Canberra’s wineries or a village along the way.
