Canberra Wineries
Join us for a weekend of fine food and wine and the occasional cultural event.
We are meeting for an early coffee at the Heritage Bakery at Milton from where our convoy will proceed to Batemans Bay along the Princes Highway, where we will meet up with our more Southern members for the trip up to the wineries.
First stop will be Braidwood for a rest stop and perhaps a cake from the bakery, then it is off to the Lerida Estate Winery for a wine tasting and a light lunch. https://www.leridaestate.com.au/2019-spring-summer-lerida-estate-lunch-menu
After lunch we will proceed to Canberra where a suggested visit to the National Museum is planned. On the way we pass Robyn Rowe Chocolates http://robynrowechocolates.com.au/ where perhaps some would like to pick up some after dinner mints.
Then it is off to our accommodation for the night at Mantra on Northbourne. 6 rooms have been reserved for the MX5 Club, pay on arrival at the hotel. Dinner is planned for Tikke Take Restaurant https://tikkatake.com.au/menu/ but if this is not to your taste there are a number of restaurants within easy walk of the hotel.
After breakfast on Sunday we plan a visit to the National Arboretum and then perhaps a visit to the War Museum which will include a morning coffee break. Following advice and recommendations from our Canberra colleagues, we will be going to Shaw Wines for lunch. After lunch we will make our way home via Nerriga or Batemans Bay.
