Cherry Pie and a Picnic
Unfortunately, we have had to cancel this run - the recent wet weather, which looks to continue and would make picnicking a damp affair, has severely effected the cherries (ie there aren't many) and the roads are not in an MX-5 condition.
Maybe next year ...
Join Peter and Annemie Wilson for an pleasant day’s drive in the country.
After departure from McDonalds, Gold Creek, the run will be along Barton and Hume Highways, through Harden and directly to Allambie Cherry Orchard at 3725 Olympic Way, Wombat.
At Allambie there will be time to pick cherries and/or have a morning coffee. From there we will drive to the Chinese Tribute Gardens for a picnic lunch. The Lambing Flat Chinese Tribute Gardens are just four kilometres from Young's town centre, within the Chinaman's Dam reserve. Now a well-established garden set in a quiet, relaxing, and picturesque site, the gardens are the perfect spot for a relaxing time - a stroll through the grounds after a quiet picnic. The reserve area has facilities and barbecues.
Hopefully, there will be time to visit Mad Harry's in Young and have an afternoon coffee in Yass.
Finer detail will be discussed on the day.
After that, a drive home via Yass for an afternoon coffee.
