Defensive Driving Course
This Defensive Driving Course will prepare you for the many challenges and risks faced on public roads.
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge skills and attitudes to adopt low risk and defensive driving strategies.
The course is about making you a better driver. It doesn’t matter whether you drive an MX-5 or a family getabout, whether you have just obtained your licence, are getting ready for an age-related driving test, or simply looking for a refresher, your whole approach to driving will benefit from this course.
The course is fully participative. The key topics will include:
- Defensive driving attitudes and behaviours
- Vehicle roadworthiness and inspections
- Posture and steering
- Emergency braking
- Emergency braking and steering to avoid a collision
- Vehicle dynamics and skid avoidance
- Reversing and manoeuvring
- Road craft and low risk driving.
- Improve driving strategies
- Anticipating potential dangers on the road
- Improving reaction to dangers on the road
- Enhance vehicle control skills
- Avoid or minimise crash severity
