Ghost Tour at North Head Quarantine Station
From the 1830s to 1984 migrant ships arriving in Sydney with suspected contagious disease anchored inside North Head and off-loaded passengers and crew into quarantine to protect local residents from the threat of infection.
After several weeks most passengers were released to settle as Australian residents. Some passengers experienced a first class resort, making new friends and sharing dreams of a bright new future. For others it was a far more frightening experience of disempowerment, disease and death.
The venue has multiple awards and it should be a good show.
We will be leaving McGraths Hill at 4pm going through Kenthurst, Dural, Beecroft and Frenchs Forest to dinner at the Forest Hotel at 5:30. Then down the Wakehurst Parkway into Manly and the tour at 8pm.
Driving may be difficult because of the dense urban environment.
The cost for the tour is $55 per visitor ($49 concession) payable to the club who will pay the venue. RSVP is required as soon as possible as numbers are limited and payment before August 4th.
