Would you like to join your fellow Canberra MX5 club members and friends in discovering the Greater Gippsland Region of Eastern Victoria on a nine day, eight night, 2,000 km journey, featuring overnight stays at Lakes Entrance (2 nights), Sale (1), Phillip Island (2), Balgownie Estate Vineyard Resort & Spa in the Yarra Valley (1), and Beechworth (2)? We will travel some roads sure to please MX 5 drivers, but this is a sightseeing tour not a rapid return trip.

If so, please let Bob Judd know and he will include you on the ‘keen to go’ list!

Saturday, 24 October - We start our sojourn with a relaxed drive via Nimmitabel to Cann River, before heading West to Lakes Entrance.  Tonight we will share dinner at, reputedly, the best seafood restaurant in Lakes Entrance

Sunday, 25 October - Enjoy a lake cruise, explore the magnificent wet limestone cave system at Buchan Caves, tour the local attractions or just have a quiet day relaxing enjoying the beautiful weather at Lakes Entrance

Monday, 26 October - Today we drive to Sale, with an optional detour to the Motor Museum at Maffra. Tonight we have organised a group two-course dinner at the motel

Tuesday, 27 October - We leave Sale and take the scenic route to historic Port Albert, where a homemade Devonshire tea awaits you at the old Customs House.  We drive on to Wilson's Promontory, and enjoy lunch overlooking the Southern Ocean at Squeaky Beach

Wednesday, 28 October - Visit the Phillip Island Raceway, and join a guided walking tour of the track at 2:00pm, and watch the penguins come ashore at about 8:00 pm. Or why not drive over the bridge to San Remo and enjoy the coffee culture and art galleries?

Thursday, 29 October - We drive north to the Yarra Valley, stopping for morning tea at Emerald before arriving around lunchtime at the luxurious Balgownie Estate Vineyard Resort & Spa, Yarra Valley. Join the group in the bar prior to a dinner featuring local produce and wines.

Friday, 30 October – Today, we travel to Beechworth. We will stop at the Marysville Country Bakery for morning tea. We will drive onto Mansfield for lunch, before arriving at our accommodation, the Linaker Art Deco Hotel (formerly the Nurses Quarters)

Saturday, 31 October – Today is a day of relaxation and rejuvenation in the relaxing surrounds of Beechworth. Breakfast at the Beechworth Bakery is always a must and a visit to the lolly shop satisfies the kid in all of us

Sunday, 1 November - And on our final day of the Great Gippsland Gallivant, we take a scenic route home and say farewell to each other over afternoon tea at the Long Track Pantry, Jugiong
