Last Qantas Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet Flyover
Qantas is retiring its fleet of 747 Jumbo Jets so is doing a tour of the country with a ‘Fly-Over’ of certain areas The Illawarra Region is part of that tour.
We’re meeting at the ‘Croome Road Sporting Complex’, near the Southlake BMX track, where you will get a view straight down the runway of the Shellharbour City Airport. There we should have a great view of the plane as it flies over, with lots of opportunity to take a few last photos of this great aircraft.
There will be no run before but bring some afternoon tea and a chair and we can share some time together in a COVID-19 safe outdoors environment.
The aircraft is to leave Sydney at 2.00 p.m. and should reach the Illawarra by 2.10 p.m. If we arrive at the Sporting Complex between 1.30 and 1.45 p.m. we will be all ready to enjoy the ‘Fly-Over’. The complex is 500 meters along Croome Road on the right hand side after you turn off Tongarra Road, Albion Park Rail.
There is lots of room for parking at the Sporting Complex with no dirt roads.
You will need to fill out the Google Booking Form.
