Leeton Art Deco Weekend
Join us for a couple of nights of retro fun as we journey through the Riverina to Leeton for their fabulous Art Deco Festival. Accommodation limited to ten cars, first in will get the best rooms!
This is Australia’s largest art-deco festival celebrating all things 1910-1940 within the landscape of Leeton’s stunning Art Deco buildings.
Treat your senses and your family to exhibitions, markets, music, jazz, swing, and immerse yourself in the fashion, food, vehicles, and culture of the town in the ’20s and ’30s.
Strictly limited by accommodation requirements, we have secured five rooms at the fabulous Hydro Hotel and a further five at the Riverina Motel. Both are within a few minutes’ walk of the town centre, and the Leeton Soldiers Club (where we may be eating).
We attended last year, and we are going back for more!
Register to take part in the Art Deco Festival – some events are free, some are not. The daily Program is still under review, but last year’s program will give you a good start for your planning: https://leetonartdecofestival.com.au/festival-program-2023/.
- The guided walking tour will take you on a captivating journey through Leeton's rich architectural heritage
- Henry Lawson at Home is well worth the 30-odd minute experience
- The Show and Shine ought to be worth a look
- There will be market stalls, vintage cars, and music in Mountford Park
- And there’s whisky and gin tasting, music and all sorts of other things to tickle your retro fancy.
If you don’t fancy that, check out the NRMA roadtrip featured in The Open Road (May/June 2021), available here: https://openroadsouthernnswandact.partica.online/open-road-southern-nsw-and-act/or0521/flipbook/18/.
