Here is an opportunity to step back in time and enjoy the sights and sounds of an era that has shaped our lives. The fifties and early sixties was a time when cars had bench seats and white wall tyres, drive-ins were a place to go but not be seen, rock ‘n’ roll was raw and raunchy, pop songs were melodic, mushy or melancholy, conforming to a universal nonconformity was the go, neon was everywhere and life was not very complicated.

If you were around in the fifties and early sixties or a child or grandchild of those who can still have the capacity to remember the period then join the BreakFast Club on an early run down to Wisemans Ferry for a drive along the north bank of the Hawkesbury River before heading up the long and winding road to Mangrove Mountain and decent into the Wollombi Valley for a a quick breakfast by 9.30am at the Wollombi Café.

The run will head off across the Lower Hunter Valley by 10.30am heading for Edgeworth to drop into the Lost in the Fifties museum.  The museum was established and is privately funded by a fifties fanatic who has on sale or display 36 restored classic US cars from the period and over 4000 items of memorabilia.  There is a $20 fee to gain entry and help maintain the museum.  The link to the museum webpage is http://www.lostinthe50s.com.au

The Lost in the Fifties Museum is only open once a month with priority entry for car clubs.  We have got an allocation of up to 20 cars for the 29 May 2016 and if you wish to join us on this event then send an email to captain@mx5.com.au.
