Meander to Mogo Zoo Weekend
Come and join us as we check out the wonderful animals at Mogo Zoo and immerse yourself in an up-close animal encounter if you wish (extra cost). This is a modified re-run of our last visit in 2019.
We will start from Bean Roasted Cafe at 9am, Calderwood and head up Jamberoo Mountain Road. We will be meandering our way on some great roads via Robertson, Kangaroo Valley and Cambewarra Lookout for morning tea at Cambewarra Tea Room (1h 30min, 79km). Check out that view!
After departing morning tea at 11am, our journey will take us to Nowra, Nerriga, Tarago (pit-stop) and Braidwood (2h 23min, 186km). Late lunch at Braidwood Bakery - we recommend grabbing their famous vanilla slice for afternoon tea takeaway. Wander the streets to check out all the historic buildings and quirky shops of Braidwood.
Departing at 3:00pm, then it's a twisty descent of Clyde Mountain on Kings Highway to our accommodation at Batemans Bay (50min, 60km). Total driving time will be 4.5 hours for 327km.
Accommodation & Dinner
We will be staying at Quays Hotel Batemans Bay, located opposite the Marina and Seaside Walk. The Hotel has been recently refurbished and the rooms look amazing. They have some lovely outdoor seating areas where we can meet for Fives. 12 King Rooms have been held for us at a discounted rate of $170 per King room. Dinner will be at the on-site restaurant Sawaan Thai with delicious authentic Thai food. We have a booking for 24 people from 7pm.
Mogo Zoo
Sunday morning we will take the scenic coastal route to Mogo Zoo and you can spend as much time there as you wish. Tickets can be purchased online using the discount code "ONLINE10" at the checkout to save 10%. Adults $49, Senior $40. Tickets are valid for 365 days from the date of purchase. Additional cost for animal encounter experiences.
After the zoo visit, lunch will be at the Mogo shops before making your own way home.
