MX-5 Club Hillclimb Round 2
Entries now open!
Anyone that volunteers for at least 2 of the 2017 hillclimbs will receive an exclusive thank you gift.
All of our club events (Social, Runs and Motorsports) could not be run without the generous donation of time by our dedicated crew of officials and volunteers. If you enjoy the many events that are provided by your fellow club members, please get involved and lend a hand.
The smallest amount of assistance can be the biggest help to the organisers.
To get involved, or if you would like to know where help is needed, please contact the organiser of any upcoming motorsport event, or talk to your local convenor for chapter events.
Your assistance in running club events is greatly appreciated, and never un-noticed.
As we all know, the trackside volunteers have some of the best seats in the house.
WARNING: This example video contains strong wind noise!
This hillclimb day is designed for drivers that have little or no experience in this type of event, who either would like to try out a new discipline, or are yearning to fill the gaps in their motorsport calendar. It is also the 2nd of 3 hillclimbs the club will be running as a championship in 2017, and so will offer this additional competitive challenge.
We will be using the track layout shown in the diagram below, and the video above.
The hillclimb is being held at Ringwood Park Motorsport Complex, which is approximately 20 minutes north of the Newcastle end of the M1 Motorway.
As this event will be run under a CAMS permit, club members will need to hold a CAMS L2S, L2SJ or better licence.
L1 Licences will be available if you have not held any CAMS licence in the past 12 months at a cost of $25. Also provides $25 discount on a CAMS Licence if purchased within 6 months.
IMPORTANT:
The entry process is now completely online at the CAMS Event Entry (CEE) web site. There can be multiple steps in submitting an entry, particularly for dual-entered cars, and it is important to complete those steps in the correct order. We strongly advise you to view the tutorials on the CEE site before attempting to register at the site or enter the event.
CAMS Event Entry can be accessed through the CAMS website (http://www.cams.com.au), on the right hand side, under the heading "What can you do in the member portal?"
When entering the event, if you are not an MX-5 Club member please be sure to select a quantity of 1 for the non-member extra, at the very bottom of the entry.
Classes: BEFORE entering the event, you must assign your car to a class via CEE.
In CEE, select "My Cars", then select your class from the Comb Sports Car Classes list.
If this is an issue, for any reason, please contact Josh Allen on the email listed above.
The following class names apply to the listed classes only for the purpose of the MX5 NSW Hillclimb Championship, and have alternative meanings in CSCA SuperSprints.
A1 Stock Under 1900cc
B1 Stock Over 1900cc
A3 Modified Under 1900cc
B3 Modified Over 1900cc
D1 All Juniors in all MX-5's
R1 All Forced Induction MX-5's, all MX-5's on R Spec tyres
DM1 All MX-5 club members in vehicles other than MX-5’s
Non MX-5s are able to enter, but are not eligible for competition points, and therefore do not have a class.
Please also ensure your preferred numbers are up to date in CEE, if applicable.
If you have a preferred number in CEE, and you are allocated that car number for the event, you will be expected to provide your own car numbers, visible from 20 metres, on the drivers side door as a minimum.
This event will use the A6 track layout:
