A chance to visit a few convicts sites on a run to St Albans for breakfast come brunch at the Settlers Arms Hotel one of the oldest licensed hotels in Australia (circa 1836) on a Saturday morning. On your way home ignore a few kilometres of unsealed road to stop and stroll up the heritage restored Old Great North Road only a short distance to the west of the Wisemans Ferry crossing on the north bank of the Hawkesbury River.

The run takes the pilgrims down to Bobbin Head then up to Berowra before the steep descent and climb out of Glaston Gorge, a pleasant & challenging road to enjoy in your MX-5, then see who slept in and joins the run at Dural. From Dural the run heads up the Northern Road a short distance to Cattai Ridge Road to snake its way down to turn off onto Halcrows Road then right to Wisemans Ferry Road. The route heads uo Wisemans Ferry Road to Sackville Ferry Road to run down to the Hawkesbury turning off onto before the Sackville Ferry onto River Road. The River Road takes the emancipists along the south bank of the Hawkesbury River as it winds its way past farms, ski parks and isolated houses passing under overhangs cut into sandstone cliffs walls that run down to the water's edge. The river bank drop off is often adjacent to your nearside door from where your passenger is hopefully relaxing and enjoying the river scenery.

The route crosses the Hawkesbury River on Webb's Ferry a few kilometres short of Wisemans Ferry. On crossing the river the road leads gangs of convicts up tp the smallest historic little village of St Albans and the heritage listed pub being the breakfast/brunch or if you want to hang about lunch venue. The rogues from the Breakfast Club will either be waiting or arrive some time after the Club Run for a hearty mornings meal.
