Sea To Sky (or High Country Adventure 2)

An eight day run to the Victorian Alps on some new roads with some old favourites thrown in. A three day drive down the coast to Jindabyne, a  rest day in the middle, then another three days driving in the High Country of NSW and Victoria, and finally the return leg. Join us for all or part of the trip.

Meet: ‘Mooney Mooney’ Rest stop (Hawkesbury) 8:45am for 9:00am

or McDonald’s Heathcote 10:45am for 11:15am

Limit: Limiting trip to a maximum of 12 cars.

Accommodation: Motels on route, ski lodges or Motel as per your preference in Jindabyne. Details on motel accommodation will be forwarded to those coming on trip.

 

Join the Hunter Chapter for a week away starting on the coast and finishing in the Alpine regions of Victoria and NSW.

The trip consists of two 3-day stages with a lay day in Jindabyne between them. You are welcome to join the run for only the first stage returning on day 4 if time is an issue.

Stage 1

The first stage consists of a run through the Royal National Park down over the Sea Cliff Bridge a diversion up Jamberoo mountain and back down the Kangaroo valley road will see us at Nowra. From Nowra we travel the A1 to Bermagui before taking the Bermagui – Tathra road to Merimbula. The last day will take us over the Myrtle mountain, Mount Darragh Roads and the Snowy River Way to Jindabyne.

Day 1,              Drive Time - 4hr 48min, Distance – 265.1km

Day 2,              Drive Time - 4hr 13min, Distance – 305.6km

Day 3               Drive Time - 2hr 56min, Distance – 218.0km

 

Day 4

A rest day, sit back feet up, tour the local area sights or visit the local Brewery or Distillery

 

Stage 2

Stage two will see us go North to Cabramurra before heading south west to Bright in Victoria this day takes us through the NSW Alpine region. A afternoon start will allow for some sightseeing or an optional run up to Mt Buffalo before heading through Mt Hotham to Omeo. The last day will follow the Mitta Mitta road (Omeo Hwy) and Alpine Way back to Jindabyne.

Day 5, Drive Time - 6hr 4min, Distance – 438km     

Day 6, Drive Time - 1hr 48min, Distance – 110km    Mt Buffalo - Drive Time - 1hr 44min, Distance – 82km

Day 7   Drive Time - 6hr 12min, Distance – 385km

Day 8 - homeward bound
