Shannons Wheels 2024
This is a perfect opportunity to show off our wonderful cars at Shannon’s Wheels, the Canberra region's largest and longest running automotive display day.
More than 70 vehicle clubs from Canberra and the region are expected to attend the 40th anniversary of this annual vehicle display.
The Wheels organisation have asked that all cars be in place by 9:30.
We are keen to have a few more Marshalls, helpers on the day. This involves a briefing on Saturday #pm at the Qbn Showground and being at Wheels at either 8 or 9 on the Sunday morning.. If you can help less let Brett know.
Between 400 and 600 bikes, cars and trucks are expected to be on display. They will include veteran, vintage, and historic vehicles, as well as modified, electric and many special interest vehicles.
Of course, the highlight of the display will be the dozens of MX-5s gleaming in their polished glory.
This is the annual charity day of the Council of ACT Motor Clubs (in association with the Canberra Antique and Classic Motor Club) – the event has raised over $400,000 for local charities across the 40 years.
The event also promotes several local charities and provides an opportunity for participants to contribute donations to these worthy causes on the day.
Trophies are awarded by CACTMC annually.
The proposed categories for 2024 include:
- President's Choice
- Mayor's Choice, and
- Wheels Organisers' Best Display by an Affiliated Club.
Wheels is sponsored by Shannons Insurance and supported by the Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council and local and regional businesses.
Sunday 18th February) is also Queanbeyan Market Day which are located at the western end of the Showgrounds, behind the Grandstand.
