Shannons Wheels Expo
This event is traditionally held on the lawns in front of old Parliament House and is being organised by the BMW Car Club Canberra, with proceeds going to the charity Technical Aid for the Disabled (TADACT). As in the past, it is expected that our chapter will have a significant number of MX-5s on display. If you are going to attend the event and display your car, would you please advise Norm Barker (nrbarker@grapevine.com.au) the names of those attending (partners welcome) by 10th May 2016, for planning/catering purposes. The Club’s BBQ trailer will be at the event, and a sausage sizzle BBQ lunch will be provided at cost to those attending. Assistance will be required prior to the opening of the event to set up the club gazebo, the BBQ trailer, and chapter signage, so also please advise Norm if you can help out. Those who are helping to set up, please arrive at the venue at 8.30a.m.; remainder please arrive at 9 a.m.
IMPORTANT NOTICE! UPDATE 10 May 2016
Wheels 2016 transferred to Newlands Street and Langton Crescent Car Parks due to wet weather.
The NCA has advised that the East, West and North Lawns and John Dunmore Lang Lawns will no longer be available for Wheels 2016 this Sunday 15 May, due to the continued wet weather. An alternative wet weather plan has been submitted to the NCA which has been approved. This will involve using the car parks around the Treasury Building with access off Newlands Street and Langton Crescent. See attached document for further details.
