Sir George Luncheon
Nothing to do this day then join us for a cruise to Jugiong with a stop along the way. Jugiong is a small historic village where it is said Richie Benaud spent part of his early life.
There will be a 'pit stop' at the Rollonin Cafe, Bowning before heading to Murrumburrah and then onto Jugiong for lunch. The Sir George Hotel was originally built in 1852 close to the river, but over the course of time, floods meant that the hotel was moved to higher ground, where it remains today. The Sir George has been recently restored to create a warm and relaxed space where old meets new with accommodation, restaurant, boutique bar and artisan bakery.
The gardens are beautiful and the tucker is plentiful.
Jugiong is a great small village (population around 300) adjacent the banks of the Murrumbidgee River and experiencing a revitalisation.
After lunch you will have an opportunity to further explore this historic village or perhaps take advantage of the limited boutique shops.
The run will be approximately 150 kms each way, through lovely undulating and at times, twisty country roads. Expect some narrow country roads and a few potholes to avoid.
