The Nurbushring
In our modern society, it's customary to pillory governments for the decisions they make. Whether you lean to the left, the right or swing either way, it's genuine dinner party fodder to quote the latest from Sky News or The Betoota Advocate (depending on your political persuasion) to lay the boot into an MP. Heck, the MPs often leave themselves wide open for this very hobby. Sometimes, just sometimes, they deserve a genuine pat on the back. Maybe even a public acknowledgement. In this case, they deserve the biggest of parliamentary pats on the back.
Whoever decided to green light the construction (and lengthy completion) of the Pacific Highway bypass of Bulahdelah should be given a series of pats on the back. Or a statue somewhere. Perhaps even a generous pension. What this particularly unassuming project of public works has afforded is the removal of general traffic from Wootton Way. It's taken the trucks and the buses from the 22km of technically brilliant roadway and handed it right back to us - the driving enthusiasts. Linking Bulahdelah and Coolongolook, The Nurbushring is a playground of lefts, rights and short straights that were seemingly deigned for the keen driver.
This is a longer event for the BreakFast Club, so we'll confirm details of breakfast, the route home and lunch closer to the date of the event. We will be travelling directly up the A1 to Bulahdelah so as to maximise our time at The Nurbushring to give participants as many laps of the circuit as they desire.
Please note that this is a waypoint run and is graded XH. Participants should familiarise themselves with the waypoint guidelines and the run grading criteria before attending. More information can be found here:
