HOTEL BOOKING REQUIRED BY NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 14TH APRIL 2023!  Please BOOK now!

Time to get in the car, roof down and zoom through some country roads, wind in our hair, the roar of lions awaiting in Dubbo.

Friday morning:

We’ll be heading off via Goulburn for morning tea, onto Bathurst, where we’ll do an obligatory lap of the track (sticking with the speed limit of course), followed by lunch.

After lunch, we’ll head off to Dubbo Japanese Gardens to stretch our legs before heading off to our accommodation for the next 2 nights at Comfort Inn, 57 Cobra Street, Dubbo City.  Please call them on 6882 7033 to take up one of the following reserved rooms.

Motel Reservation is in name MX-5 Car Club Illawarra – Senia Gaunson

Motel bookings must be finalised by 14th April 2023

3 Rooms at $119.00 per night

5 Rooms at $127.50 per night

2 Rooms at $131.75 per night

Dinner Friday and Saturday night will be at the Dubbo RSL, they have a courtesy bus available.  The restaurant comes recommended and has quite a good menu:  https://dubborsl.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Sunset-Bistro-Menu-2023-1.pdf

Saturday morning:

We’re off to the Zoo!  Breakfast is your choice, forage around Dubbo, bring your own, or order a continental brekkie at the Motel.

Dubbo zoo is an open plains zoo, accessible by car, on foot, in a golf cart or bikes.  We’re heading there bright and early for the zoo opening at 9 a.m..  It is recommended you organise your own picnic lunch as the café at the zoo is quite expensive and likely to be busy.  Lots of great spots to stop under a tree and have lunch.

Dubbo Zoo entry:

$39 for seniors if paid on arrival or over the phone

$35.10 if ticket bought online

$30.40 for seniors if we make a group booking (over 12), so we will try to do a group booking as soon as we know numbers.

In the afternoon, we’ll head off to Dubbo Gaol, a heritage listed former gaol and now museum.

Saturday evening  Dinner at Dubbo RSL,

unless you choose your own adventure:

Dubbo Gaol twilight or night time adventure, or an evening tour of the Dubbo Observatory and Optical Telescope.
Sunday morning:

Options to visit Aladdin’s Cave Bottle House, a Historic Homestead, Winery, Wellington Caves, or just head home.

More details as they come up.  In the mean time, please BOOK the run, as well as the motel, and indicate if you would like to be included for dinner Friday and / or Saturday night.

This weekend promises to be full of fun and laughter, won’t you join us?
