2024 MX-5 Club Motorkhana Championship starts soon
06 February 2024 / David Lawler
The MX-5 Club 2024 Motorkhana Championship will consist of 4 rounds, with 3 at the SMSP Skidpan and a 4th at Nirimba TAFE at Quakers Hill.
The list of events and dates is available on the MX-5 Club motorkhana homepage.
The club motorkhana round at Nirimba TAFE is on a dry bitumen surface and will be run in conjunction with a round of the NSW state Motorkhana Championship. This state round is run just like a club motorkhana, just at a different venue and with MX-5 Club competitors scoring results in both the state and club motorkhana championships.
For 2024 the MX-5 Club Motorkhana Championship Rules have changed slightly, so that up to the 3 best rounds from the year will be included in the championship for each competition, and the worst result dropped. This means that anyone who misses a round will not be unnecessarily disadvantaged in the championship.
The club has been running a round of the NSW Motorkhana championship each year since 2018, but this year that state round will also be included in the club motorkhana championship. Any club members who compete in that round will score points in the NSW championship, and the test times for the MX-5 Club members alone will also be used to calculate results based on the club motorkhana classes (ie Open, Ladies, Junior), with those results contributing to the club motorkhana championship.
This 4 round championship gives an opportunity for any club members who can't participate at a round or who has a poor result, to regain those lost points in the club championship.
Entries for Round 1 at the SMSP Skidpan on Sunday 10th March are now open, and information and a link to the entry system are available on the event page.
