Archibald the long way

Archibald the long way.
If you want to drive from Glenbrook to the Archibald Hotel, what’s the best way? The MX-5 way of course, via Lithgow. Well, that was the Dempsey’s idea and who could argue. A total of nineteen people from all over the chapter could only agree.
Glenbrook Theatre is not only the best place to watch a movie but a great place to start a run with six cars lining up on to the Highway and heading west. I don’t know who paid whom, but the first set of red lights was at Lawson for everyone but Brigid and Ron, who finally caught up at Wentworth Falls. Another smooth run from there took us down through Hartley Valley, the road works at Little Hartley and the Lolly Bug then on to our comfort stop and second pick up at Old Hartley. Another 5 cars were waiting, including our most distant member Ian Hatherly from West Orange.
Eventually, catching up with old friends had to be paused so we could make our booking at the Tin Shed Café. What a top venue for a club coffee break. Drinks and food arrived smoothly for everyone with great coffee matched by tasty cakes. I’m sure we will be going there again.
Eleven cars headed up the hill towards Bell catching a slow-moving truck at the top but opening up again at Clarence for a dream run down to the Archibald and meet up with Garry.
Always a comfortable place for a tasty lunch and chat, our crowd enjoyed the company of like-minded people, many organising their next cruise to blend in with future runs.
Rob and Debbie have done it again. Great work guys.
