Changes to Member Portal

This brief message is to advise of changes to the Member Portal, approved at the May 2023 Committee Meeting.

The Chapter dropdown list has been removed from the main page of the Member Portal. This selection was originally used to manage the distribution of emails but it allowed only one Chapter to be selected. The nomination of a single Chapter contributed to the misconception that members joined a Chapter when in fact your membership is to the MX-5 Club of NSW. Events organised in any region are open to all Club members, regardless of where you live. There are no "walls" in our Club.

We now have a special Emails tab in the Member Portal. Members may subscribe to the communications from one or more Chapters without needing to nominate a single Chapter. There is also an option to subscribe to emails from any of our Motorsport activities. You are encouraged to subscribe to any/all emails that take your interest. Alternatively, if you do not wish to receive any Chapter or Motorsport emails, please check your Member Portal and unsubscribe from them.

This change aims to ensure that members who are interested in the events of any Chapter are included in email correspondence from that Chapter. This could be for one Chapter, many Chapters or no Chapters. The choice is yours to make!
