Hunter Midweek into the Mountains

After a week of almost non-stop rain, we were greeted with clear blue skies in the usual meeting spot at Beresfield Hungry Jacks.
4 NC's, 2 NB's and a lonely NA made up the grid for the Kaos 300 on that chilly Tuesday morning, with 10 people rugged up in beanies, scarves and thick jackets for a top day with the tops down.

Starting with a quick warm up through the excellent bendy farmland roads at Duckenfield, we headed via Paterson to Dungog for a quick pitstop, before hitting the real twisties between Dungog and Stroud. Most of us got caught behind a soccer mum in a 4x4 on this section, which was disappointing, but others were able to find imaginative ways to keep it spirited.

From there we headed up the Gloucester on the Bucketts Way for a pub lunch at the Broad Axe Bistro. Lunch was great, very reasonable priced, and the staff did an awesome job getting all our food out at almost the same time.

Despite everyone feeling like a nap, after a quick chat, we headed out to Krambach for a few photos and a toilet break, then headed back down the Bucketts Way for a farewell at Stroud Golf Club. Due to the dwindling light, most of us headed for the Pacific Highway for a quick and uneventful drive home.

In all, it was a great drive on a beautiful day. Thanks to Kaos Kurri for organising it, and thanks to everyone that came and made it such a fun drive.
I'm sure all of us are looking forward to the next one we can make it to.
