Illawarra Christmas and Awards 2022

Illawarra Chapter held its 2022 Christmas party in the beautiful hills, on a private estate at West Dapto on Saturday 9th December 2022.
While we didn’t see Santa, there was plenty of delicious food, prizes and surprises!
We were honoured with the presence of our President, Ian Combes and his wife, Catherine, along with Catherine’s mum, Marina.
Starting with our own presentations, we presented our Run Leaders and Organisers with thank you gifts for all the wonderful work they did during the year. As this was mine and Lena's first year as Run Co-ordinators, we were especially grateful to all the wonderful people who led or organised runs and also to those who joined us on the runs!
Our 'Santa’s Helpers' this year were presented with some delicious wine, (or in the absent Brendan’s case, personalised golf balls) They were
Brendan Barr and Anna Nietner, Phil Reid, Bryan Shedden, Wally Wojewski, Phil Belcher, John & Chrissie Zaremba, Kerry Smith, Peter & Jill Feutrill, Barry Pope, Jan Gibson, Mark & Hella Underwood, Fiona Shedden, Pam & Jeff Rowe, Senia & Bob Gaunson and Wes & Lena Hill.
We were proud to announce the following awards:
Lena Hill, MX-5 Club of NSW - Illawarra Chapter Member of the Year.
Brigid McCarthy, MX-5 Club of NSW - Illawarra Chapter New Member of the Year.
Brigid, who is in fact, a Sydney member that we’ve adopted, was also the MX-5 Club of NSW new member of the year! Hence the presence of our Club President who presented Brigid with her award. She was most surprised!
Bryan and Ann Hicks, the hardest working Convenors / Members in the Club, were deserving recipients of the most prestigious MX-5 Club of NSW President’s Award, which was announced at recent AGM.
And last of all, I, Senia Gaunson, was humbled and honored to be presented with the MX-5 Club of NSW Member of the Year!
So another year ends, and a new dawn begins, we have lots of fun and surprises in store for next year. See you on the road!
