Lingering Longa at Gundy

We had a great Sunday this week out on Phil's Horsepower run, lead by George and Jen to the Linga Longa Inn in Gundy. Phil was the organiser but was unavailable on the day, so Jen and George took the run on and did a fantastic job on their first time leading.
It was a lovely sunny 8:30am start from Beresfield with 15 cars heading out. With tops down to enjoy the breeze we made a quick pit stop on the way to Denman, where there were a couple of nice cafes open and everyone relaxed and enjoyed their morning tea.
On the beautiful 40km+ drive from Denman to Linga Longa Josh, Lindsay and I took a short detour to Stroud because SOMEONE forgot to fuel up before we left (me). Running on fumes as we pulled into the petrol station, the needle didn't even move when I turned the car off!
We then headed along a nice drive with just some decorative clouds sitting above the green rolling hills to the Linga Longa Inn for lunch. It was nice sitting outside and enjoying a good meal (with good portion sizes too!) with a view of the old fashioned church sitting in the distance of the local countryside. Our Kuntry Kuzzin (Stephen Carter) even dropped in for a suprise visit all the way from Tamworth!
After lunch a few of us decided to take the optional extra trip through Moonan to see the historic wool sheds, church and homestead, then on to Gundy through some very twisty roads for a short stroll along the old suspension bridge over the river.
All in all a great day was had by all.
Thanks to Phil for organising and Jen and George for taking the reins to lead the run!
