Sydney meets Illawarra at Bulli for a drive to the Burrawang Village Hotel for lunch.

Wow!  What a turnout  with 9 cars from the Sydney chapter and 5 from Illawarra, I lost count!  The scenery and the weather were both spectacular. We drove in convoy from Sylvania, through the Royal National Park and across Audley Weir, through Stanwell Tops and over the spectacular Seacliff Bridge.

What an eye opener coming out onto the Seacliff Bridge! The Imperial Hotel at Clifton looks like it may be worth a visit sometime in the future (apparently, they have great cocktails!).

bulli

Meeting the crew from the Illawarra Chapter at the Bulli beach cafe, we continued on to more beautiful scenery, through the Wingecarribee valley on our way to the Burrawang Village Hotel for lunch. Zan and Phil, Illawarra locals, with great local road knowledge, were asked to lead the convoy from Bulli to Burrawang and took us off the main highway, along lovely country roads, where we enjoyed escarpment and farm views, and over a winding Macquarie Pass.  Everything was green, with waterfalls along the way caused by the recent rains, made for a feast of the senses.  Burrawang is located 750 metres above sea level, and it was a little chilly, but the autumn sun kept us warm.

For the foodies the food at the pub was delicious and lots of it.

Thanks to Steve and Maree for organising.
PS: Steve kept us on the straight and narrow (this time) no unplanned deviations (with Zan and Phil's help!)
