The first Tuesday of the month is the nominated day for the South Coast chapter monthly meeting.

As usual, we gathered at Annabel’s Café for morning coffee and cakes, and for some, breakfast. After coffee and chat the meeting proper started and members were brought up to date on club goings-on.

Bob Downing was congratulated for his award of Runner Up in the New Member of the Year 2019. This is a significant achievement given the number of active members of our club. Certainly, the South Coast chapter has benefited from his contribution.

Major topic of discussion was the 2020 Calendar of Events. This was circulated to members earlier in the year, inviting comment. The calendar contains a number of weekend outings being organised by various chapter members. A feature of the calendar is a bi monthly mid-week lunch outing.

Business over and coffee and cakes consumed, it was lunch time and an informal gathering of 11 members drove to Lake Conjola to Tilly and Mo’s Café for a delightful light lunch. The owners of the café lost their home in the recent bush fires. The fires also caused the closure of the access road to this normally very busy holiday resort, robbing the café of valuable holiday season business. Consequently, the owners are struggling to re-establish their business. They expressed gratitude to the club members for their support but experiencing their lunch time fare makes thanks redundant. The food is simple but fresh and delightful. Highly recommended.
