Menangle Memories

Menangle Memories.
Settlers at Mulgoa is always a great place to start a southern run. Bathed in history and blessed with great coffee and food it’s sometimes hard to finally make a move.
New members John and Helen Walsh fitted right into our group of 10. Even the banter between Graham Ron and Gary couldn’t put them off. Showing off their “as new” NB series 2, John Molden has finally met a challenger to his concourse winner.
John and Francis headed us up and led us south through historic Wallacia and onto Greendale Road. Then over the old Northern Road now known as Wentworth Road past the old Bringelly shops and onto the new Northern Road. There are many other ways to Menangle, but you can only hit so many potholes in a day and stay sane. Heading west on Cobbitty Road took us down through many old towns and villages that will soon be subject to development hopefully not a sea of grey roofs. Over Razorback and down into Picton reminded me of the many traffic jams I suffered when that was the main (only) road south.
You are showing your age if you can tell me about the connection between Razorback and the World Square building at Brickfield Hill.
Left at Picton and Down Menangle Road, past some huge homes, we crossed the Nepean River to see some of the recent flood damage. Reaching the Menangle Country Club just as it opened, we settled in for an afternoon of food and fun.
Thanks to John and Francis for another fun time.
