RPM twilight run to Picton
10 January 2023
RPM Twilight Run.
One of the delights of having a convertible car is driving in the cool of the evening in the warmer months. It is something I always enjoy.
Recently Ron and I took a run from our place to Katoomba on a Sunday evening and we thought this would be a lovely run for our Club. So with that in mind we made it a goal to work out some suitable destinations. The brief was to formulate a drive that was not overly long so that the drive home after dark would be pleasant cool and not too taxing.
It was really just an experiment, and considering how little notice we gave on the webpage, I was really pleasantly surprised by the response. So 14 members including some very new members and even 5 Sydney members set out from Mulgoa. The roads are still a challenge in places but it is good to see that a lot of work is already done.
The weather was kind, and we arrived at the iconic George IV at Picton. The food was generally quite good except for the unforgivable issue of the broken coffee machine. This was especially annoying for those who had travelled a little further to join us.
Everyone was in excellent spirits and the conversation was very lively with lots of laughter. I can't tell you what we discussed, as it was more than a little saucy.
We parted company and headed home on what was a lovely evening and I for one enjoyed the run home.
RPM will endeavour to put on a Twilight run once a month on those daylight saving time, and if Sunday was anything to go by, it will be great.
