Bob and I were challenged with organising a run for a Saturday evening. Being fairly recent residents of the Illawarra, we're still discovering its beauty and boundless MX5 run options. We decided to take you to some of our favourite places. Beautiful sunny day rolled around, great for topless touring. A total of 15 cars with 28 starters met us at Warrawong for a twilight run with a difference, no zoom zooming today, just a leisurely trip where we cruised along the "Beauty and the Beast" of Port Kembla, taking in our beautiful beaches, flanked by billowing chimneys of the local steel industry, then up along Thirlmere, Austinmer and Scarborough and over the amazing Seacliff Bridge,
built encircling the mountain and over the ocean and up to Bald Hill, where unfortunately there were no sky divers but the view is always stunning.
Rob Wilkins headed off back to Seacliff before us to grab photos of our cars cascading back over the bridge, culmination with dinner at The Deck of Ryan's Hotel at Thirroul, which was a little slow coming but delicious.
It was a beautiful way to spend a Saturday twilight and evening with friends.
