Absolutely fabulous Australia Day celebrations done Sydney Chapter style at Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Gardens today. Thank you so much to our Convenors Maree & Steve Eccleston for their detailed planning and thought into pulling this together.

11 cars departed in convoy from Maccas Mt Colah …. Seriously Maccas need to get onboard and sponsor us after the dream photo shoot in the carpark. I believe someone captured.

The drive up to Pete’s Ridge was faultless (can you believe). The dream run back down the Old Pacific highway was  just as good …. The breathalyzer brigade unfortunately pulling the short straw on a public holiday at Berowra, even broke a smile as we passed them by. Many happy smiles greeted us from those forgoing the run and meeting us at the Gardens as we pulled up in Convoy just after 11am. A salute to Steve for keeping the convoy in one through the backstreets of Hornsby, Waitara, Wahroonga, Turramurra, St Ives …. No mean feat let me tell you from a “local” gal. Clearly the locals were sleeping in!

There was “guess the celebrity” and “toss the thong” but my money was on Maree’s “homemade”, yep you read that correctly, homemade lamingtons for 30 something revellers.

A great day was had by all. In total we had 16 cars with 30 members, and in addition we had  Glenn, Eilis, Jo and Christina’s grandchildren attend. Also, we helped Joe Kovacic celebrate his birthday as he was born on Australia Day. A great day to remember! A special mention to new members, Kim and and Mark Kownacki, who only joined the club this morning and  attended their first run showing typical true Aussie spirit..

The weather was great as was the company. Sydney members embraced our new venue for Australia Day.
