Sydney Chapter Team Top Run to Berry

27 February 2015 / Guy Coles

With rain threatening on the horizon, 12 cars and 17 drivers and passengers met at McDonalds Heathcote for the Sydney Chapter Team Top run to Berry.

With many wearing their favourite team jersey, we were a colourful mob as the run was explained, initially through the Royal National Park and then along the coast through Helensburg and Thirroul. A quick break at Albion Park allowed us to regroup as the traffic lights had broken up the pack. Some quick thinking by the front runners managed to alert some of the rear drivers who had missed the pit stop by nearly running out on to the road to show them where we were.

We managed to stay ahead of the rain with our tops down, however the roads particularly through the National Park were still very damp. Thankfully, from Albion Park through to Berry the roads were dry and the pace comfortable and relaxed.

Arriving in Berry, we found that the choice of lunch venue was closed! What sort of restaurant closes for Sunday lunch in a tourist venue like Berry? So most of us decided to eat at the Berry Sourdough Café who kindly and without any warning managed to find two tables to seat our crew of 15 people.

All in all a pleasant run and a great way to spend a Sunday!
