The low way to the local

The low way to the local.
North Penrith Maccas was crowded out with twenty club members keen to get out in the hot summer sun for an easy convoy run to a pub lunch.
Roof up or down was the first consideration with about a 50:50 take up. That sun was hot.
Ron and Jacqui, backed up by Ron and Brigid, led us out on to Castlereagh Road, past the white-water rafting centre, the famous “Pondi” and on to Richmond. Turning down to Smith Park for a catch up and a view of the Pughs Lagoon we picked up Jackie Briggs before a picturesque run through the beautiful Richmond lowlands. One of the farmers had thoughtfully let his irrigation system spray onto the roadway giving us a cooling shower. Mark and Kay Godfrey put up a video on Facebook showing how much they enjoyed it.
Up the hill to the RAAF base and into Windsor. Back into Sydney traffic down Windsor, Schofield and Richmond roads past the M7 ramp and onto Rooty Hill Road turning into the Alroy Tavern. Recently renovated yet retaining its old-world atmosphere it is comfortable with a large menu and daily specials. Quite local to many of the RPM crowd.
A smallish yet comfortable room with many people became quite loud as we had a post Christmas catch up with our neighbours and friends.
Thank you To Ron and Jacqui for a well planned and pleasant run.
