Tractor 828

We had a terrific turnout today with 10 cars meeting at McDonald’s Dural for a relaxed start to the run, led by Bob and Marni.
Our first destination was the Stone House Café — only to discover it was closed. Fortunately, Eilis Weir came to the rescue with her homemade ANZAC biscuits. And not just any ANZACs: these were baked with maple syrup especially for Bob, our Canadian run leader. A sweet (and very Canadian) gesture that went down a treat.
With time to spare, the convoy took a short detour to Ebenezer Church. It was the perfect spot to pause, stretch our legs, and enjoy a bit of history before heading on to our final stop.
The day wrapped up at Tractor 828 Café — though not without a twist. Poor Bob’s lunch never turned up! He eventually received a refund and the promise of a free meal, only for his order to finally appear, cold and far too late. Meanwhile, the rest of us enjoyed our meals while having a laugh at the irony of the run leader being the one left hungry.
Despite a couple of hiccups, the run was full of laughter, winding roads, and great company. A big thank you to Bob and Marni for leading us — and for keeping their sense of humour when lunch didn’t quite go to plan!
