Vineyards Meander

Our meander through the vineyards began from the Binniore Dairy Lodge Rd Lovedale at the very civilised meet time of 10:00am.

After a delicious coffee and scone (and it was a genuine Denise that didn’t steal Phil & Mara’s coffee on purpose) before taste testing the delectable cheeses etc. that they had on offer. A brief shower of light rain had several members (myself included) scrambling to put tops up much to the amusement of those that had already done so.

After a thorough briefing from our run leaders Chris & John on the road conditions our large group of 31 persons including prospective new members Belinda & Rodney Felsch we headed out down Lovedale Rd and as advertised we meandered around through the Countryside past various wineries.

Then the rains came down and after a brief pause to put tops up we continued on to Audrey Wilkinson’s or Pokolbin Park for a chance to stretch our legs and take in the magnificent vistas from these vantage points looking out over the valley.

Then it was back on the road to continue our journey at the same relaxed pace until we arrived at Harrigan’s for lunch which was good timing as a storm rolled in just after we arrived including spectacular lightning and thunder enjoyed by all the duck and pot pie seemed to be the popular choices all in all a great day in the Vines.

Many thanks to Chris & John for putting this run together.
