Join Rod and Maryanne for a trip in the country.

We’re off to Crookwell for lunch. Crookwell is a quiet little town surrounded by a rich agricultural and pastoral district. The district is recognised as one of the state's major producers of seed potatoes, wool, fat lambs, beef cattle, oats, hay, dairy produce and cold-climate fruits.

And wind.

We will pass several large wind farms on our travels, where some of the finest wind in New South Wales is cultivated for use in creating electrical energy. Warm winds, cool winds, even nasty chilly winds, are mustered and corralled in these modern farms and put to use for the benefit of many. We can’t get too close to the farms but there is every chance we will encounter winds in the wild (we may even be able to catch and break-in a little wind ourselves).

Meet at Hall in the Hall Primary School carpark on Hoskins Street. From there, it's off to Binalong and Boorowa, where we will stop here for coffee etc. After a break, we will head off to Crookwell for lunch.

Home is via Gunning and Gundaroo if you follow Rod & Maryanne, or you can make your own way via Goulburn.

All up, the trip is about 315 km and involves about 3:45 hours driving time.

Run Grade: This is a ‘long’ run, suitable for most drivers. It includes some narrow country roads in generally good condition but involving a variety of terrains, including a few twists and turns. There may be some potholes to avoid. The Club’s Grading System is described at https://nsw.mx5.com.au/events/important-information/run-gradings.
