Lerida Estate - Lunch, wine tasting and tour
What better way to start a run but with morning tea at Denman Prospect shops! From here, aside from a ‘convenience’ stop it’s straight through (albeit the long and scenic way) to Lerida Estate Winery over looking beautiful Lake George.
An easy run first down to Uriarra Crossing, beware the local lycra clad fauna as they can lack road skills!
We’ll be going over Taemas Bridge. The original bridge was built c. 1888 and located 3 kilometres downriver from the existing Taemas Bridge. This bridge was destroyed by a flood in May 1925 after being raised by 5 metres in 1924 to protect it from floods! The current bridge was completed in 1931 and is over 200 metres long.
Once we have skirted around Yass, we’ll be stopping at the public amenities in Murrumbateman. From here, cross country to the Federal Highway and on to lunch.
Given the estimated numbers, Lerida have offered the following lunch option: amazing shared platters of cheese and charcuterie, smoked olives, baked brie, hot chips and garlic bread.
Following this we have booked a wine tasting and winery tour. Food, tasting and tour for only $35.00 per person, that’s good value!
After the tour, head home in your own time / way.
