Nature and Telescopes - Picnic Run
This is an easy going drive in the country. We head to Googong Dam out past Burra and on to Tidbinbilla. We'll picnic in the grounds of the information centre and have time for a walk in the bush if it's a good day for it.
You can BYO picnic drinks, although there will be coffee, drinks, snacks and icecreams available at the information centre.
After our relaxed break, we will then head down the road to the Deep Space Tracking Station and then through the Cotter to the Mount Stromlo Observatory. (plenty of opportunities for photos.)
A leisurely 155 km.
Run Grade: This is a ‘Cruiser’ run, suitable for all drivers. It features some narrow and winding roads, and the inevitable potholes to dodge. The Club’s Grading System is described at https://nsw.mx5.com.au/events/important-information/run-gradings.
