Shannons Wheels Enlightenment
Canberra Chapter has approached us to see if we would like to display our cars with them at the Shannons Wheels Expo next year. This is a great event, and attracts around 1100 cars, with veteran, vintage, classic and modern cars on display.
With our 25th anniversary in 2015, MX-5s will be the Focus Club and will have the prime position for our display.
The weekend, is also the last night for Enlighten, the wonderful night time annual event which sees various buildings lit up in the parliamentary triangle, similar to Vivid in Sydney.
A wonderful weekend is up for grabs, with a run to Canberra on Saturday morning, then perhaps a back country run or just free time in the afternoon to take in the sights of Canberra. Dinner in a restaurant or club then Enlighten in the evening, followed by Shannons Wheel Expo on the Sunday. What more could you ask for!

Julie Sando has organised and secured rooms for us at Forrest Hotel and Apartments for $149 for a standard room. Mention "MX-5" when booking.
If you wish to book online through the hotel website, you can get the room for $141.55. There is provision for putting in requests, so just mention that you’re with the "MX-5 group booking", so hopefully our rooms will be close by.
Jan and Garry Gibson have volunteered to organise the run down there.
Enlighten is free, just a matter of walking around, and enjoying the displays.
Shannons Expo is open from 10am – 3pm, also a free event.
