Woodstock: One day of peace, love and MX-5s
‘What we have in mind is breakfast in bed for 400,000.’
Hugh Romney, Max Yasgur's farm, 16 August 1969
‘What I have in mind is a drive to Woodstock for lunch, via Boorowa and Wyangala Dam.’
Rod Nicholas, sitting at his desk, 28 February 2023.
The current plan is to drive to Boorowa via Binalong, for something a little different, where we will recaffeinate. From there, a country experience via Frogmore to check out Wyangala Dam, which is currently 97% full (when we visited three years ago, it was a sad 12.8%). We’ll stop for a photo or two, then trek to our lunch spot at the Woodstock Hotel.
Home will be via Cowra, and then Boorowa again, followed by the easy trip down the Lachlan Valley Way to the Hume and Barton Highways and home.
The trip, all up, is about 400 km, and while there is a good deal of driving, no leg between stops will exceed 1.5 hours.
All this is subject to change, depending on road conditions (to be investigated).
Run Grade: This is a long run, suitable for confident drivers. It features some narrow country roads and an inevitable pothole or two (or three or …). The Club’s Grading System is described at https://nsw.mx5.com.au/events/important-information/run-gradings.
