| The definition of a Standard car is one in the "spirit" of as it would have left the factory ie. no performance-enhancing modifications including tyres. Use of R-spec tyres such as Yokohama A050, or any tyres less than 200 treadwear rating will classify the vehicle as modified. Aftermarket wheels are permitted if they are the same diameter and width as standard wheels from within that class. | ||
| Limited Modified | 4 | Clubman. Road registered Mazda MX-5 NA & NB including Clubman, 10AE, Heritage models with limited modifications. R-spec tyres are not permitted. For details see this page. |
| 5 | Super Clubman. Road registered Mazda MX-5 NA & NB including Clubman, 10AE, Heritage models with limited modifications. An extra 3 modifications are permitted over Clubman. R-spec tyres are not permitted. For details see this page. | |
| Modified | 6 | Modified road registered normally aspirated Mazda MX-5 NA & NB with a maximum 100kW at the rear wheels. Road legal R-spec tyres are permitted. |
| 7 | Modified road registered normally aspirated Mazda MX-5 NC & ND with limited modifications and a maximum 110kW at the rear wheels. Road legal R-spec tyres are permitted. | |
| 8 | Turbo/Supercharged road registered Mazda MX-5 excluding standard SE (Class 2). Maximum 140kW at the rear wheels. Road legal R-spec tyres are permitted. | |
| Race Cars | 9 | Non road registered normally aspirated MX-5 race cars and/or Class 6 & 7 MX-5s that exceed the specified kW readings/modifications running on treaded tyres. |
| 10 | All turbo/supercharged MX-5 race cars, cars that exceed the Class 8 limitations, and all MX-5 members running on slicks, irrespective of vehicle. | |
| Non-MX-5s | 11 | Non MX-5 vehicles entered by an MX-5 Club member running on treaded road tyres |
| Visitors | 12 | All visitors irrespective of vehicle. |
The Organisers may re-classify any vehicle if they believe it is not eligible for the class in which it has been entered. Eligibility questions may be forwarded to competition@mx5.com.au.
