Mike Walkden-Brown Memorial Run

It was a very sad day for our club this week when long-time member and friend Mike Walkden-Brown died peacefully at his home Wednesday evening. It was agreed by all, that Mike would want us to proceed with our Sunday run to Harrington regardless of his absence, which we dedicated in his honour.

The air was fresh for the 7:00am meet at Cessnock McDonalds, but to our surprise not fresh enough to keep 22 cars and 37 attendees away from an early morning blast to breakfast down the Putty Road.

Casino Weekend

Wayne led a small but keen group of MX-5ers from the Mid North Coast Chapter on a fabulous 1200km three-day trip to Casino for a couple nights. The middle day featured a drive into Queensland and the Hinze Dam with views over the Gold Coast before looping back via Mount Lindesay. And there was a bit of poker played along the way.

Well after a week of downpours which decided to continue into the weekend... so to set the scene we had a sand and water backdrop moving with the breeze and sound of water flowing down the driveway as well as a welcome gift for each attendee, a “lei” …. lol. A fantastic social night was, thanks Elaine & David Gazzard for hosting!

It's always great to be able to count the number of cars and people on a run. Sometimes - that can become a tough thing to do. Especially when the crowd keeps rolling on in ... and then the event rolls on into the afternoon. Who cares when it's all good fun and wonderful company!
